There is no shortage of stores to rent a pair of skis or a snowboard in Jindabyne, which can be overwhelming.  Our friends at Snowy Mountain Sports are located next door to the hotel & offer a one stop shop at the best prices in town. The guys will personally fit you out with the best quality Ski’s, snowboards, helmets, boots & apparel. You can also pick up your snow chains at the same time! Just be sure to mention you are staying at ‘The Banjo’ for up to a 30% discount .

Chain Hire

If you are traveling to Perisher Resort in a two-wheel drive car you are required to carry chains in your vehicle between Jindabyne & Perisher.  If traveling to Thredbo they are not compulsory, however it is recommended.  Four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles are not required to carry chains. 

It is helpful to know how to fit the chains or get a demonstration before you head to the mountain. In peak periods there may be a chain fitting service available on route to the mountain, however it is not guaranteed.
